Cáritas Coimbra with active participation in the Coimbra Sustainability Summit 2020
Cáritas Coimbra participated in the Coimbra Sustainability Summit, organized under the DIATOMIC project and coordinated by Pedro Nunes Institute, Association for Innovation and Development in Science and Technology.
Carina Dantas, Director of the Cáritas Coimbra’s Innovation Department, did a presentation where she made the institution known and spoke about the user’s perspective on the difference between the development of technologies and their implementation on a large scale. She presented several examples of co-creation and user involvement, as is the case with the five projects that the organization currently implements under the Horizon 2020 program, namely SmartWork, Lifebots, PHArA-ON, VALUECARE and PlatformUptake.eu; the DAPAS and DIANA projects, financed by the AAL Program and Hands-on-SHAFE, AVIK, and IGCAL, Erasmus+ projects. Caritas Coimbra also participates in the EU-SHAFE intra-regional project, financed by the Interreg Europe programme.
The Coimbra Sustainability Summit aimed to explore growth opportunities at the intersection of four digitization areas considered fundamental for growth: Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, IoT and Cybersecurity (4 KETs), trying to demonstrate how the combination of elements of these technologies can respond to the needs of the four application domains: Health, Agri-food, Manufacturing and Sustainable Cities.
