Cáritas Coimbra participated in the SheldOn COST project meeting
Cáritas Coimbra participated in a meeting of the work group of the Sheldon COST project on February 27 and 28, in Paredes.
At this COST meeting Cáritas Coimbra was represented by its Innovation Director, Carina Dantas, who joined other researchers from 35 different countries to discuss Friendly Environments for the older adults.
The SheldOn project aims to foster the exchange of knowledge, the development of a joint research agenda in terms of designing multifunctional indoor environments to meet the requirements of an ageing European population, while promoting a healthy and safe ageing.
Cáritas de Coimbra had the opportunity to present some of its ongoing projects in the field of active ageing and improvement of the quality of life and health of older citizens funded by the European Commission under the H2020 Programme, the AAL / FCT Programme or national funds.
As examples, Cáritas Coimbra is developing the Smartwork project, which aims to develop and validate life-style and work environments that are more friendly to older people. In April, it will also begin the Lifebots Exchange project in the area of international, interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral collaboration of social robotic technology for health care. In the health area, the Jumpair project focuses on the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers; DAPAS, which aims to develop innovative and centralized solutions for the older adults and their network of caregivers; Toilet4me aimed at promoting the autonomy of older citizens through adapted sanitary facilities in public and semi-public spaces and the ReHab project that will test an innovative programme of cognitive and functional rehabilitation at home.
