Cáritas Coimbra with strong presence at the eHealthSummit / ISfTeH

On March 19 and 20, Cáritas Coimbra will be present at the eHealthSummit / ISfTeH International Conference, at the Altice Arena in Lisbon.

4 initiatives will be presented in representation of Cáritas Coimbra by Carina Dantas, Ana Jegundo and Willeke Van Staalduinen, of the Innovation Department.

The ReHab project, co-financed by BPI Seniors 2018, will be presented on the 19th, which is testing an innovative system for providing cognitive stimulation and functional rehabilitation through interactive technologies.

The next steps of the SHAFE Network – Smart Healthy Age-Friendly Environments, will be presented on the 20th, which will be mobilizing European actors to prepare a White Paper with broad consensus policy recommendations on the subject by 2020.

The results of a collaborative work led by Cáritas Coimbra and the University of Stuttgart under the European Innovation Partnership for Active and Healthy Ageing (EIP-AHA) on Privacy Preferences in Active and Healthy Ageing will be announced.

Finally, the Caregivers’ role on ICT for AFE will be presented, a document composed of a list of actions aimed at maximizing the involvement of caregivers in the development and exploitation of technological solutions for the older persons.

In addition to the presentations, Cáritas Coimbra present projects will be disclosed, namely Smartwork (H2020), which aims to develop and validate work and life environments that are more age-friendly to older people; the Jumpair (H2020), which falls on the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers; DAPAS (AAL / FCT), which is developing innovative solutions focused on the older persons and their network of caregivers; and the Toilet4me (AAL / FCT), which aims to promote the autonomy of older citizens through sanitary facilities adapted in public and semi-public spaces.

The Portugal eHealthSummit is scheduled for March 19-22 and is an initiative of the Ministry of Health of Portugal. This event is not only the largest meeting of Portugal in the scope of digital transformation and innovation in the health sector, but also one of the largest in Europe, capable of bringing together more than 13,000 attendees and 22,000 accesses to the livestream of the 2018 event. Its achievement has leveraged the country’s strategic position in advancing the digital revolution in health not only at the national level, but at the international level and across all areas of society.
