INVITATION | PUBLIC PRESENTATION OF THE MANUAL OF GOOD PRACTICES FOR PREVENTION OF FALLS IN OLDER PEOPLE

Caritas Coimbra will present the Manual of Good Practices for Prevention of Falls in Older People, in a public session to be held at its facilities, on September 27th at 5:00 p.m.

Caritas Coimbra recognized an added value in this Handbook, whose subject matter is extremely important for the institution itself, in accordance with its strategy of promoting active and healthy ageing, and is also aligned with the objectives and priorities of the European GrowMeUp Project, in which Caritas is partner.

Thus, a program is foreseen that counts with outstanding guests in the scope of the active ageing. The opening session will be led by Ana Luísa Jegundo of the Department of Innovation of Caritas Coimbra, to present some strategies of the institution in the promotion of active and healthy ageing. Subsequently, the Manual will be presented by the main author Anamélia Almeida, prepared with the participation of the institution through the contributions of Carina Dantas.

The Discussion Panel on Fall Prevention will be in charge of Prof. Dr. Anabela Mota Pinto – Professor at FMUC and Prof. Dr. Paulo Nossa – Auxiliary Professor of FLUC, with the theme Scientific community and organizations of the 3rd sector in the creation of innovative processes; Dr. Luís Santos, Researcher at the Higher Institute of Robotics of the UC that will present the case of the GrowMeUp Project and with the theme Strategies of dissemination of good practices at the regional level will be present Prof. Dr. João Malva – Ageing@Coimbra

The session will end around 6:00 p.m. with a Port of Honor and closure by the President of Cáritas Coimbra, Luís Costa.
