Cáritas Coimbra took part in the International Human Rights Congress
Cáritas Coimbra participated in the Congress “Human Rights: History, Actuality and Utopia(s) in a context of globalisation”, an international meeting intended to mark the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The Dignipédia Global project promoted the event, which took place between 6 and 7 December, at the Dr. Teófilo Carvalho dos Santos Auditorium, in Alenquer (Portugal).
The congress, whose aim was to systematise and deepen the issue of human rights in its global lines and to raise awareness, was organised by the European Institute of Cultural Sciences Padre Manuel Antunes (IECCPMA), the UNESCO Chair of Center for Global Studies at Universidade Aberta and the Dignipédia Global project.
Cáritas Coimbra had the opportunity to present the work carried out and the results achieved within the scope of Triplo D and ALLright(s) – Direitos para tod@s, projects that promote the strengthening of a culture of active and participatory citizenship and education for equality and human rights, diversity and interculturality.
For the team from Cáritas Coimbra’s Innovation Department who attended the event, it was an impactful moment, where it was possible to absorb knowledge and see different perspectives on the complex cultural and social basis on which human rights are based.
