ALLright(s) promoted the closing event of Youth in Action Groups in Condeixa-a-Nova
On June 7th took place in Fernando Namora Secondary School, the closing event of the group “Youth in Action” of Condeixa-a-Nova, created in the scope of the ALLright(s) project. Throughout the morning there were sports and educational activities, with the special participation of Bruna Catarino, Designer at Cáritas de Coimbra and Rui Martins, Sensei at the Shukokai Karate School of the Coimbra Agriculture School (ESAC).
This event brought together secondary school students who, for several months, have been preparing awareness-raising activities for the educational community on the right to education, environmental sustainability, and dating violence. The activities had the full support of the Group of Schools of Condeixa-a-Nova and the Leisure Activity Centre of the Fernando Namora Secondary School, from Cáritas Coimbra.
Considering that this was a large group, they were subdivided into three groups, which presented different initiatives:
- “Set it Right” Group: With the motto “In a relationship neither behind, nor front, it is always beside!”, this group streamlined an exhibition about Valentine’s Day, in collaboration with the 11th TIAT (Tourism – Tourist Information and Animation) class. The exhibition highlighted the dichotomy between healthy love and toxic love, through symbolic words and photos. The organization shared that “the exhibition received positive feedback from visitors”.
- “Go Green” Group: With the slogan “Stop lazing around and start recycling!” this group attempted to draw attention to the importance of recycling to contribute to the reduction of the ecological footprint and a more sustainable world. For this, they wrote a letter to the Councillor for Education of the City Council of Condeixa-a-Nova, to expose the need for eco points for the Fernando Namora Secondary School and the remaining group of schools.
- Ius+ Group: With the motto “Equal duties, equal rights” this group tried to sensitize the educational community to the question of the right to education. To do so, they produced a poster, which was presented in a symbolic way to the students of the Leisure Activity Centre of Condeixa-a-Nova Educational Centre, from Cáritas Coimbra.
