The following equipments were engaged in the short therm training: Centro Comunitário de Inserção, Equipa de Rua Reduz, Sol Nascente Day Care Centre and viHda+.

The AVIK project, co-financed by the ERASMUS+ Programme of the European Union, started in 2018 and came to an end in the past month of August. It aimed to the exchange of inter cultural skills and good practices for the social inclusion of migrants, refugees, people from different ethnicities or people in the verge of poverty.

In this way, the Innovation Department from Cáritas Coimbra is, at the moment, visiting its equipments and gathering their teams to share their experiences and adopt this simple social responses, to support the services and monitor their users.

This Kit is formed by the game “Diversonopoly”, the manual “New Start” and the concept “Dinner Club”.

Diversonopoly is a board game that promotes awareness and intercultural communication and mutual understanding between people of migrant origin (immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers) and locals in the “host country”. It facilitates the process of teaching migrants the language of the host country, and even another foreign language, bringing cultures between different countries closer together. This activity has the means to grasp the attention of different aged audiences.

On the other hand, “New Start” consists on an educational book that conveys European values like freedom, equality, tolerance and civil rights for their integration, as well as advice for their inclusion in Portugal.

The concept “dinner Club” can be adapted to each equipment, and it aims to create a room for intercultural and inter-religious exchange with a diverse program, art exhibits and live music, amongst other activities. The Centro Comunitário de Inserção, for instance, is already designing a room with these features in its equipment, to which they named Biblioteca Comunitária. From now on, the game can be used in group dynamics or even in service context.

The manual will support the approach to users and will be training and didactic material.

The goal is to cover as many equipments as possible with these materials, and to be used by the largest number of people to focus on the social inclusion and easy access to information.
