Dapas – Cáritas Coimbra starts the second version of the project DAPAS
Researchers from the project DAPAS, in which Cáritas Coimbra is a partner, are preparing everything for the delivery of the second version of the DAPAS system.
The aim of DAPAS is to integrate various systems which increase safety, support in activities of daily living and ease communication. Therefore, the second version is composed by an EMMA system, an ECHO system (Alexa), a lamp, and a motion sensor.
This equipment will be installed in the DAPAS participants’ houses, which will allow them to use the system by voice instead of the tablet. Furthermore, new games will be added to the system, which gives more opportunities for performing a cognitive training.
Currently, the DAPAS researchers are conducting tests to ensure that when the system works flawlessly when it goes to the participants’ residences.
Project DAPAS is financed by the European Program ALL (Active Assisted Living – ICT for Ageing, 2017) and, in the case of Portugal, by the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia.
