New Triplo D Project’s Website
Triplo D is a project that is being implemented by Caritas Coimbra, since July 2019, with the objective of increasing the democratic involvement and political participation of citizens. It is based on the links between democracy, demography, and human rights.
This project is financed by the PROGRAMA CIDADÃOS ATIV@S/ACTIVE CITIZENS FUND (under the Active Citizens Fund/EEA Grants, funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway), which is managed in Portugal by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the Bissaya Barreto Foundation. It has three major partners: European Centre for Women and Technology, Instituto Europeu de Ciências da Cultura Padre Manuel Antunes and Agrupamento de Escolas da Lousã. The new website appears as a new physical platform for the project and will be a tool for connecting with the community and the target groups.
Since the launch of the project, several education/training sessions and school and community discussion groups have been developed, seeking to educate and strengthen the culture of human rights, active and participatory citizenship of professionals, community agents, children and youth, people in situations of vulnerability and older adults. In this sense, the aim is to transform the target groups into promoters and agents of change and political decision.
The Triplo D’s website, https://triplod.caritascoimbra.pt/, will be one of the interfaces connecting the project with the target groups and the community, seeking to keep up to date on the content and activities of the project. It is structured so that there is an intuitive and fluid interaction.
In the digital era, this will be an opportunity to build a community more aware of its role as full citizens, in rights and duties.
