DAPAS project takes Cáritas Coimbra to the 7th edition of the WorldCist’19 Conference
Cáritas Coimbra, represented by Ana Luísa Jegundo of the Innovation Department, will participate in the 7th Edition of the WorldCist’19 Conference, on April 16, 2019 in La Toja, Spain. This conference is a global forum for researchers and practitioners to present and discuss the latest innovations, trends, results, experiences and concerns in the various perspectives of Information Systems and Technologies.
Cáritas Coimbra has developed research activities in collaboration with the Aveiro University and the Pedro Nunes Institute in order to promote synergies and exchange of learning between academic entities and the 3rd sector. The latest result of this collaboration is the publication of the article “Usability evaluation of a Virtual Assistive Companion” in the topic “Human-Computer Interaction” of this conference. This research aimed to evaluate the usability of the CaMeLi technology that is already present in the routine of the elderly people of the Day Care Centre of Cáritas Coimbra’s Rainha Santa Isabel Centre. The results of this research and the methodology applied here will be considered in the evaluation protocol of the technological solution that is being developed in the DAPAS project, in which Cáritas Coimbra is a partner.
The DAPAS project aims to integrate the successful results of previous AAL community projects – Assisted Living Environments, developed from different companies in different countries. These innovative solutions are being combined into a single product that can be distributed on a larger scale to improve the quality of life of many people. DAPAS is co-funded by the European AAL Joint Program (Active and Assisted Living Environments – ICT for Aging, 2017) and, in the Portuguese case, by the Foundation of Science and Technology, I.P.
