The SAge-Hub project held Focus Groups dedicated to digital innovation in ageing
On May 12 and 25, focus groups were held within the framework of the European project SAge-Hub, which aims to strengthen the innovation ecosystem through digital solutions for healthy and active ageing.
The sessions were organized by the Health Cluster Portugal (HCP), the Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN), and Cáritas Diocesana de Coimbra, bringing together representatives from different entities within the health and innovation ecosystem, namely Gripwise Tech, Porto4Ageing, MIA – Multidisciplinary Institute of Ageing, CCDR-Norte, CCDR-Centro, 2CA – Centro Clínico Académico de Braga, Stokedge, CoLAB4Ageing, the Innovation and Development Center of ULS Coimbra, and Cáritas Diocesana de Coimbra.
The main objective of these meetings was to promote a collaborative reflection on the challenges and opportunities associated with the development, validation, and adoption of digital solutions addressing demographic ageing, with a particular focus on their effective integration into healthcare systems and the market.
Throughout the sessions, participants discussed key topics related to the future of innovation in health and smart ageing. The importance of co-creation models involving companies, universities, social institutions, public entities, and end users was highlighted, underlining the role of real-life testing environments (living labs) as an essential element for the validation and adoption of technologies.
The conclusions gathered from these focus groups will contribute to the development of future initiatives and support instruments for SMEs within the SAge-Hub project, enabling the design of programmes better aligned with sector needs and strengthening value chains in the field of ageing and digital health.
SAge-Hub thus continues to promote spaces for dialogue and cooperation among the different actors within the ecosystem, driving innovative solutions to address the challenges of demographic ageing.
The SAge-Hub project is funded by the Interregional Innovation Investments (I3) instrument and aims to promote innovation and collaboration in the field of Smart Ageing in Europe.
