Cáritas Coimbra promotes digital literacy skills within the scope of the Digital Life Learning project
In November 2023, a series of digital literacy sessions for older adults are taking place at several Cáritas de Coimbra centres, as part of the DigiLife project. The sessions are led by students from higher education and aim to address a set of needs identified in the first phase of this project.
Cáritas Coimbra and Instituto Pedro Nunes, who are partners in this project, aim to develop a set of tools (toolkit) and training sessions with the objective of enhancing the digital skills of older adults. This is accomplished through the active collaboration of young university students, in exchange for recognition of microcredentials and “real-world” experience.
#DigiLife will last 26 months, financed by the Erasmus+ Program: KA220-ADU – Partnerships for Cooperation in Adult Education, from the European Commission, and has 6 European partners: Cáritas Coimbra (Portugal), Instituto Pedro Nunes (Portugal), Plataforma del Voluntariado (Spain), People Behind (Greece), Università Degli Studi Di Roma Tor Vergata (Italy) and Fondazione Garagerasmus (Italy), the project’s coordinating entity.
