IGCAL consortium met virtually to discuss project developments

Cáritas Coimbra participated in the third meeting of the IGCAL project – Improving Guidance and Counselling in Adult Learning, which took place on March 31st, through videoconference.

After the second IGCAL meeting, which took place in Coimbra from 19th to 21st February, the consortium met again to discuss the project’s developments. The session was also important to adjust the IGCAL’s schedule of activities, since it suffered some conditioning in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.

IGCAL is a project approved under the European Commission’s Erasmus+ programme, which aims to increase the quality of adult education. In this sense, it is developing a pedagogical tool to map the basic learning parameters of adult students and, thus, support the creation and access to professional qualification paths. This tool aims to expand and develop the skills of educators and other employees who support these trainees. It is intended, therefore, to give educators bases so that they are able to encourage adults and people of other age groups to progress and increase their education and skills.

The consortium consists of Cáritas Coimbra (Portugal), AFEdemy (Netherlands), University for Adult Education Celje (Slovenia) and Työväen Akatemia (Finland), who is the coordinator.
