Cáritas Coimbra participated virtually in the 4th meeting of the AVIK project
Cáritas Coimbra was present at the 4th meeting of the AVIK cultural exchange and social inclusion project, which took place on March 20th. Initially, the meeting was scheduled for the 22nd and 23rd, in Rome – Italy, but in view of the contingency experienced at this time derived from Covid-19, and ensuring the health and safety of all, the consortium resorted to new technologies and met through videoconference.
The project has as partners Cáritas Coimbra (Portugal), Center for the Greek Language (Greece), CIAPE – Centro Italiano per L’Apprendimento Permanente (Italy), VondiConsulting Unternehmensberatung Vondrak KG (Austria), AC Amics de la Biblioteca de la Fonteta (Spain), Datca Ilce Milli Egitim Mudurlugu (Turkey) and WHKT – Westdeutscher Handwerkskammertag (Germany), which is the project coordinator.
Flávia Rodrigues and Joana Vieira, from the Innovation Department, represented the Portuguese institution and contributed to the discussion of the project’s progress. Each entity presented the result of the tasks assigned and, subsequently, the next steps were defined. In view of this pandemic phase, new deadlines for project implementation were discussed, since the practical part, the participation in activities for the dissemination and transfer of good practices is currently impossible to predict when they will be able to take place.
AVIK is a project approved under the European Commission’s Erasmus+ programme, which aims to exchange intercultural skills and good practices for the social inclusion of migrants, refugees, asylum seekers and people in precarious situations (for example, at risk of poverty). In this sense, it integrates three models of “good practices”:
- Dinner Club – an intercultural and interreligious meeting space with a diversified program, art exhibitions and live music, among other activities;
- Diversonopoly – a board game to encourage intercultural communication and mutual understanding between the native and non-native population, giving the opportunity to obtain essential information in terms of classic behavioural rules, communication, education and work, everyday life, free time activities and traditions and customs;
- New Start – set of educational material that transmits European values such as freedom, equality, tolerance and civil rights for a better understanding and integration.
The objective is to transfer these three models to all European partners in the AVIK project, so that they can be adapted and enhanced.
