SMARTWORK AND AAL FORUM TAKE CÁRITAS COIMBRA TO DENMARK

Cáritas Coimbra is part of the 2019 AAL Forum Organizing Committee to be held in the city of Aarhus, Denmark.

Carina Dantas and Ana Luísa Jegundo of the Innovation Department, will participate in the preparation meeting, where the topics of the debate will be defined, as well as the call structure for the workshops.

The Active and Assisted Living (AAL) Forum is an annual conference that presents the latest technological advances for active and healthy ageing, from robots and games to applications and sensors, products that focus on quality of life, greater independence and social life, and reduction of health care costs and social support. It brings together on one occasion participants who develop the technology, those who use it and those who invest in it, making it one of the largest and most important European events in the area.

In addition to this meeting, Caritas Coimbra will also meet with the local partner – Aarhus Municipality to prepare the pilot of the SmartWork project which started in 2019, and aims to design and test friendly environments for workers over 55. This project is funded by the European Commission’s H2020 programme.

The purpose of this meeting is to exchange experiences on the ways in which the two entities operate and to find a common ground that can harmonize the pilot implementation despite cultural disparities.
