IGCAL | Cáritas Coimbra’s new project will be launched in Finland
Cáritas Coimbra will be in Kauniainen, Finland, from October 28th to 31st, to participate in the kick-off meeting of the IGCAL project. This new project is funded by the European Commission’s Erasmus+ programme in the field of adult education.
In addition to Cáritas Coimbra, partners of the IGCAL project are AFEdemy (Netherlands), University for Adult Education Celje (Slovenia) and Työväen Akatemia (Finland), which is the coordinating partner and will host the first working meeting. For two years, these entities will promote strategic partnerships to improve guidance and counselling in adult education. In this first meeting, Cáritas Coimbra will be represented by Flávia Rodrigues, Natália Machado and Goreti Oliveira from the Innovation Department.
In order to increase the quality of adult education, IGCAL proposes to develop a pedagogical tool to map the basic learning parameters of adult learners and thus support the creation and access to professional qualification pathways. This tool will increase and develop the skills of educators and other staff supporting these trainees. It is therefore intended to provide a basis for educators to be able to encourage adults and people of other age groups, in low-skilled situations, to progress and increase their education and skills.
