EU_SHAFE is the new Cáritas Coimbra project
Cáritas Coimbra will be in Aarhus – Denmark, on September 23rd, during AAL Forum, to participate in the kick-off meeting of the EU_SHAFE project (Europe Enabling Smart Healthy Age-friendly Environments). This project is co-financed by INTERREG Europe and led by municipality of Bizkaya.
Cáritas Coimbra is one of the 10 partners of EU_SHAFE project. This project aims to improve policies and practices in 7 European regions by developing a comprehensive approach to Smart Healthy Age-Friendly Environments (SHAFE). Through a “sharing learning” methodology, this robust multidisciplinary and cross-sectoral consortium will build a European project in a quadruple layer-scheme to share experiences and practices to improve multilevel policy instruments.
The consortium will create a cooperative and inclusive ecosystem between public authorities, European networks and user associations, integrating its experience and competences with research and design knowledge from academia and SMEs for the growth of community based services that help “ageing at home” across Europe.
EU_SHAFE will invest in policy formulation and adaptation of regional instruments derived from ETCF (R&D priorities) and ESF (Social Inclusion), through the creation of a large Euro-local network of actors who will work together on ecosystems towards a common template – a White Paper on SHAFE. It will also select and redesign concrete and scalable social innovation interventions for SHAFE, which can be implemented as realistic innovative models for the future.
