Cáritas Coimbra was in Dusseldorf at the kick-off meeting of the AVIK – an intercultural exchange project

Cáritas Coimbra was in Dusseldor – Germany from 25 to 26 October, at the kick-off meeting of teh AVIK project., approved under Erasmus+ program of the European Commission. Ana Luísa Jegundo e Flávia Rodrigues from the Inovation Department, represented Caritas Coimbra in this consortium that involves six more international partners.

AVIK is a projec that provides for the exchange of intercultural skills and good practice examples for social inclusion, covering several target publics throughout the project actions. The first meeting had as main objective the presentation of the partners and to define the first activities of dissemination of the project. Cáritas Coimbra had the opportunity to present the institution ant the action developed with the the different types of public supported.

During the kick-off meeting of the project, innovative ways and other practices that could lead to social inclusion were discussed. Different forms of receiving people in situations of social exclusion in different countries were shown, as well as cultural differences through board games, guides for new citizens, sharing of meals between different cultures, are some of the objectives of the project that will empower the target public of the project so that they can integrate into society.

The project is coordinated by the German organization WHKT-Westdeutscher Handwerkskammertag, with the other partners being Caritas Coimbra (Portugal), CIAPE – Italian Center for Permanent Appreciation (Italy), VondiConsulting Unternehmensberatung Vondrak KG (Austria), Datca Ilce Milli Egitim Mudurlugu (Turkey), Center for the Greek Language (Greece) and AC Amics of the Biblioteca de la Fonteta (Spain). In this first meeting it was already possible to exchange experiences and good practices with each of the partners in order to boost the implementation of the project.
