AGAPE project wins an award at an international conference
During the Final Conference of the European ValueCare project, the Innovation Department of Cáritas Coimbra presented a poster from the AGAPE project, another of its ongoing projects that shares many similarities with the commitment to promote active and healthy ageing through digital technologies for health and social care. The poster was honoured with the Best Poster Award by the vote of the Conference participants. A great honour!
The AGAPE project is in the pilot implementation phase in Portugal, where it has already involved nearly 80 people, including older adults, informal and formal carers and volunteers. Over the last few months, the participants have been testing the technology (wearable devices [smart watches and smart elastic bands], and monitoring and chat applications).
The AGAPE ‘Active aGeing And Personalised service’s Ecosystem’ project is co-funded by the European AAL (Active Assisted Living) Programme and, in the Portuguese case, by the Foundation for Science and Technology (Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia).
