Cáritas Coimbra mentor and judge at Coimbra i-Days

On the November 12th, Cáritas Coimbra used its experience and knowledge to recommend and best teach the participants of Coimbra Innovation-Days (i-Days). The session took place at the Pediatric Hospital of the Coimbra Hospital and University Centre (CHUC).

Flávia Rodrigues, from the Innovation Department of Cáritas Coimbra, was a mentor and judge at the program. As a mentor, she supported the teams present to develop innovative ideas and solve real health problems, helping them find the best approaches to overcome the various stages in developing an opportunity.

In the end, she was also part of the jury – composed of specialists linked to health innovation – who chose the best idea developed and presented at Coimbra i-Days, SiACE IA. The winning team received a prize of 800 euros, as well as securing access to the Innovation Days EIT Health final in Paris, on December 1st, with the flight and accommodation provided by the organization.

Coimbra i-Days is headed to higher education students and postdoctoral researchers, challenging them to come up with innovative ideas in healthcare. The initiative, which comes under the European EIT Health program, is organized by the University of Coimbra (UC) in collaboration with CHUC – Pediatric Hospital, running in parallel with 19 other European partners, such as Imperial College (London), Oxford University (London) and the Karolinska Institute (Sweden).
