Cáritas Coimbra participated in the fifth and last PHILIP consortium meeting in Perugia (Italy)

On January 23, Cáritas Coimbra, represented by Ana Goreti Oliveira and Vera Pinto, took part in the last transnational meeting of the European PHILIP project, which took place in Perugia, Italy.

During the meeting, the results achieved by the project were presented and discussed, including:

  • Transnational report on the health literacy of children and young people (11-15 years old) in the various countries of the consortium;
  • Handbook “Educating for Health: Innovative Approaches to Enhancing Youth Health Literacy”, aimed at the educational community (teachers, educators, among others);
  • Training modules aimed at children and young people (11-15 years old), both in English and in the different languages of the consortium. These are intended to be an educational tool in health education, with interactive and innovative tips and resources.

In addition, the final steps for disseminating the project were outlined and the results of the pilots in the various countries of the consortium were presented. The aim of the pilots was to test the training modules with students and teachers. The feedback is generally very positive. All the materials developed as part of the project will be available free of charge on the project’s official website.

The PHILIP project aims to increase the health literacy levels of young people aged between 11 and 15 years and to empower educators through health literacy education and awareness-raising activities. All the PHIULIP’s materials will be available for free. Through PHILIP’s website and Facebook, you can follow all the activities carried out and resources developed.

This project is funded by the European Commission’s Erasmus+ Programme, in a partnership between six European entities: Cáritas Diocesana de Coimbra (Portugal), Tiber Umbria Comett Education Programme – TUCEP (Italy), E-School Educational Group (Greece), Academia Postal 3 Vigo S.L. (Spain), Inovaciju tinklas (Lithuania) and Ústav pro zdravotní gramotnost, z.ú. (Czech Republic), project coordinator.
