Cáritas Coimbra and DigiLife consortium drive digital inclusion forward
Cáritas Coimbra participated in the final conference and transnational project meeting (TPM) of the DigiLife – Digital Life Learning project, in Rome, an Erasmus+ initiative focused on enhancing digital skills among older adults. These events, held on December 4th and 5th, marked the culmination of a fruitful collaboration between partners from Portugal, Italy, Greece, and Spain.
With a spirit of celebration and reflection, the consortium highlighted DigiLife’s achievements in bridging the digital divide through innovative intergenerational learning. By engaging young university students as digital mentors, the project empowered older adults to navigate the digital world while fostering meaningful connections between generations.
DigiLife has demonstrated that digital literacy is a key to inclusion for all age groups. By combining youthful enthusiasm with creative educational approaches, the initiative not only connected people but also contributed to building a more inclusive and connected Europe. Its legacy will continue to inspire efforts to unite generations and empower communities through technology.
The DigiLife ran for 26 months, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme, with the partnership of 6 European organisations: Cáritas Coimbra (Portugal), Instituto Pedro Nunes (Portugal), Plataforma del Voluntariado (Spain), People Behind (Greece), Università Degli Studi Di Roma Tor Vergata (Italy) and Fondazione Garagerasmus (Italy), the project’s coordinator.
