Cáritas Coimbra participates in exchange within a project on social robots

Between August and October 2024, Cáritas Coimbra participated in two secondment activities in the scope of the LIFEBOTS Exchange project.

Bruna Franceschini, project manager and researcher of the Innovation Department, travelled to Norway, to Trondheim, to visit NTNU, the coordinating entity of the project, and to Tromsø, to the Norwegian Centre for E-health Research at UNN. These activities included various cultural events, training sessions, and exchanges between the entities, always focusing on the use of social robots with an ethical and legal perspective on issues related to active and healthy ageing.

In the following months, Cáritas Coimbra also hosted members from these organisations and organised the “Workshop on Social Robots in Home and Institutional Care”.

The Lifebots project aims to strengthen cross-sectoral, international, and interdisciplinary collaboration in the field of social robotics technology. In essence, it explores how social robots can be integrated into people’s lives.

The LIFEBOTS Exchange is a project funded by the Research and Innovation Staff Exchange (RISE), part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA).
