Transnational meeting of the DIGILIFE – Digital Life Learning project in Coimbra
Cáritas Coimbra and Instituto Pedro Nunes hosted the transnational meeting of the DIGILIFE – Digital Life Learning project on November 23rd and 24th, where the outcomes of the Portuguese pilot were presented. During this meeting, the consortium partners were afforded the opportunity to attend a session that was organized within the framework of the Portuguese pilot of this project, which was held at the São José Community Centre.
The Portuguese pilot included the promotion of digital literacy training sessions for older adults, aimed at the entire community, and carried out in three Cáritas Coimbra centres, namely the Rainha Santa Isabel Centre, the Community Insertion Centre, and the São José Community Centre. After receiving training specifically for this purpose, a group of volunteers, college students, led those sessions.
DigiLife aims to enhance the digital proficiency of older adults through the active participation of young university students, through a practical work experience that fosters intergenerational sharing.
The #DigiLife will last 26 months, financed by the Erasmus+ Programme: KA220-ADU – Partnerships for Cooperation in Adult Education, of the European Commission, and counts with 6 European partners: Caritas Diocesan of Coimbra (Portugal), Pedro Nunes Institute (Portugal), Volunteering Platform (Spain), People Behind (Greece), Università Degli Studi Di Roma Tor Vergata (Italy) and the Fondazione Garagerasmus (Italy), coordinator of the project.
