Innovative digital literacy project for older people presented to higher education students

During April and May, Cáritas Coimbra and the Instituto Pedro Nunes promoted 4 events to present the DigiLife – Digital Life Learning project to higher education students. The sessions took place at the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences of the University of Coimbra, at the Miguel Torga Institute of Higher Education, and at the Coimbra Superior School of Education.

This project aims to develop a set of tools (toolkit) and training sessions, to increase the digital skills of older adults, with the active collaboration of young university students, in exchange for the recognition of microcredits and a “real work” experience.

During the sessions, the project´s main goals were presented, as the methodologies and the next steps of the Portuguese pilot in Coimbra. At the end of each session, Cáritas Coimbra and IPN started the recruitment process by making available the registration form.

The #DigiLife will last 26 months, financed by the Erasmus+ Programme: KA220-ADU – Partnerships for Cooperation in Adult Education, of the European Commission, and counts with 6 European partners: Cáritas Coimbra (Portugal), Pedro Nunes Institute (Portugal), Volunteering Platform (Spain), People Behind (Greece), Università Degli Studi Di Roma Tor Vergata (Italy) and the Fondazione Garagerasmus (Italy), coordinator of the project.
