CÁRITAS COIMBRA TOOK THE TRIPLO D PROJECT TO COIMBRA EDUCATION SCHOOL (ESEC)

Cáritas Coimbra held an online information session for Escola Superior de Educação de Coimbra (ESEC), Coimbra Education School, on March 25. The project’s techinicians Ana Goreti Oliveira and Joana Carvalho guided the session entitled “A path in the construction of inclusive and participatory environments” (in portuguese, Um caminho na construção de ambientes inclusivos e participativos). The aim of this session was to present the Triplo D project.

36 students and members of the teaching staff took part in the online session. Cáritas Coimbra briefly presented the Triplo D project (its objectives, methodology and area of intervention). One of the main objectives of this online session was to enable the sharing of positive experiences and good practices in promoting and activating the civic and democratic participation of the various target groups of the project, from children and young people to older adults (65+).

Following on from this event, a set of raising awareness sessions within the theme of human rights and citizenship will be scheduled. These will be a collaboration between the subject Ethics and Citizenship, Ética e Cidadania, and the project partners. This information session also made it possible to publicize the activity “Intergenerational Citizens” which consists of holding discussion sessions open to the public and creating discussion groups, with young people, adults and older adults. Among others, it is intended to give voice to all citizens, on their needs, at an individual and collective level and to contribute to joint positions. In this way, it was intended to allow students to express an interest in collaborating in this activity on an individual level.
