Cáritas Coimbra participated in the IDIH Week’s Innovation Day

The IDIH week (International collaboration Digital Transformation Healthy Ageing week) is a 4 days online event dedicated to researchers, innovators, care providers and users associations dealing with Digital Health for Active and Healthy Ageing (AHA).  This IDIH Week integrated information, networking & matchmaking, and co-creation sessions among all the key stakeholders of digital solutions for AHA in Europe, Canada, China, Japan, South Korea, and USA.

Cáritas Coimbra was invited to be one of the Pharaon Project partners in the Innovation Day of the IDIH week, to create value in the discussion of one of the 4 parallel co-creation thematic sessions, each dedicated to one of the IDIH Strategic Topic:

Diana Guardado, Pharaon Portuguese Pilot Coordinator, attended to the Inclusive Living session, where the main priorities discussed were: “Understanding marginalization connected to ageing and promote targeted and co-created inclusive solutions”; “Sharing tools and methodology,  practices in the field of LHS (Learning Health Systems) to reduce health disparities in elderly populations; and Enhance virtual care by understanding barriers to and opportunities for digital literacy of care professionals/end users, and identifying solutions.

Topics like “user involvement in innovation processes”, “new ageing groups/marginalized groups”, “digital and health literacy promotion”; “accessibility and digital transformation to leverage the use of ICT” were raised during the discussion.

The Pharaon project – Pilots for Healthy and Active Ageing intends to develop integrated platforms that allow personalized and optimized care in terms of health and social assistance, maintaining the dignity of older people and encouraging their independence, security and abilities. In addition, it intends to foster its interest in the nearest urban natural areas, as well as its active participation in the preservation of the environment. To this end, it proposes to integrate services, devices and digital tools on open platforms that can be readily implemented on the ground.

Pharaon consortium is made up of 41 European entities and the project received a total investment of 21.5 million euros, financed by the Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Program of the European Union, under the Grant Contract No. 857188.
