Cáritas Coimbra participated in a European workshop on evaluation protocols for the pilots in the Pharaon Project

On March 15, Cáritas Coimbra participated in the European workshop on evaluation protocols of large-scale technological pilots, organised by the Pharaon project.

The workshop was coordinated by the French association Autonom’lab. Over 25 representatives from the 6 different pilot sites attended: Murcia and Andalusia (Spain), Portugal (Amadora and Coimbra), the Netherlands, Slovenia and Italy. A team of partners was assigned to each pilot site to ensure the development and correct implementation of each phase (pre-validation and large scale implementation). This workshop helped to coordinate actions between the various teams.

The Portuguese pilot is coordinated by Caritas Coimbra and Santa Casa da Misericórdia da Amadora. These pilot sites will test user-centred technologies and address challenges related to integrated care, planning, integrated processes and infrastructures, knowledge sharing and acknowledgement of urban green and blue natural areas as fundamental to every citizen’s physical and mental well-being.

Pharaon – Pilots for Healthy and Active Ageing aims to develop integrated platforms that will allow personalized and optimized health and social care, maintaining the dignity of older people and increasing their independence, security, capacities and stimulating their interest in the urban natural areas near them. Furthermore, it intends to foster their active participation in preserving the environment. To this end, it proposes to integrate services, devices and digital tools on open platforms that can be promptly implemented.

The Pharaon consortium consists of 42 European entities and the project received a total investment of 21.5 million Euros funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme under Grant Agreement No. 857188.
