Within the scope of the Smartwork project of which Cáritas Coimbra is a partner, an Opinion Paper was released about the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic at the office and collaborators.
In the context of the Smartwork project, which Cáritas Coimbra is partner, was released an Opinion Paper about the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic at the office and collaborators. This work is the outcome of a concerted activity which counted with the joint participation of other projects funded by the same call – SC1-DTH-2018-1 on the European H2020 Program.
The paper title is “The role of AI Technologies in Working Through COVID-19 and its Aftermath”.
Cáritas Coimbra and ECHAlliance coordinated this action and counted on the contribution, in addition to those previously mentioned, of the various partners of the Smartwork project: Byte Computer S.A.; Center for Assisted Living Technology (cat); University of Patras and Roessingh Research and Development.
Projects funded by the same call: Ageing@Work, Co-Adapt, SEEFAR, sustAGE and Working Age, also participated with articles.
The main goal of this paper focused on the reflexion and exchange of the consequences of COVID-19 on workplaces, at a time teleworking has become a primary tool and a necessity for many collaborators. It also attempts to analyse in what way the digital solutions can be developed, adapted or optimized to better respond to the challenges posed by a pandemic.
The collected contribution was guided through 3 questions, even though the partners that contributed were free to explore other relevant aspects:
– How can a specific workspace technology be utilized to respond to the emerging challenges brought by COVID-19?
– Are there any changes in priorities and real needs, considering the pandemic situation?
– Is this an opportunity for projects like Smartwork to underline the necessity of a digital revolution at workplaces?
These are the question the audience wants answered through the vast contributions and individual opinions of the Smartwork partners.
