Hands-on SHAFE is Cáritas Coimbra’s new project and will be launched soon
On the 5th and 6th November, Cáritas Coimbra will be in Gouda, The Netherlands, for the launch of Hands-on SHAFE, a project approved under the Erasmus+ programme of the European Commission.
Carina Dantas and Flávia Rodrigues, from the Innovation Department, will represent Cáritas Coimbra in the Hands-on SHAFE kick-off. On the first day of the meeting, SHAFE – Smart Healthy Age-Friendly Environments will be presented and explained in detail in partnership with Willeke Van Staalduinen of AFEdemy, also co-ordinator of this international network. At the working session dedicated to Healthy, which will take place on the second day, Cáritas Coimbra will explain the methodology for structuring learning modules for caregivers and the community in integrated care, as part of SHAFE, as well as discussing their connection with housing and public spaces and ICT.
During the meeting, there will be opportunity for all participants to focus on the content and development of the project, understanding how each partner will contribute to its success.
Hands-on SHAFE is coordinated by AFEdemy (Netherlands) and is partnered by Cáritas Coimbra, ISIS GMBH (Germany), Airelle Corrèze (France), Technological University Dublin (Ireland) and Politechnika Warszawska (Poland). This consortium will offer online training programs in informal learning contexts and practical tools to improve people’s skills (especially with low qualifications and/or cognitive or physical vulnerabilities), enabling them to implement healthy and friendly environments for all ages in their own homes and neighbourhoods. Thus, the project aims to promote the social inclusion of these people and encourage them to be innovative and pioneering in their communities.
